Do descendants of Confucius still exist today?

Descendants of Confucius still exist today. The current descendants are the 80th generation grandson, Kong Youren and Kong Chuichang. It is worth knowing that although Confucius failed many times during his lifetime, his descendants were deeply influenced by his teachings.

Since the Han Dynasty, feudal governments of all dynasties have begun to grant titles to the descendants of Confucius. Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, named Kong Teng, the ninth-generation grandson of Confucius, the "sacrifice king". Emperor Yuan of the Han Dynasty named Confucius's thirteenth-generation grandson the "Guannei Marquis" and granted food to 800 households. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Confucius' thoughts received greater respect, and many of his descendants were granted titles. Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty named the descendants of Confucius as Baoshenghou, and Xuanzong promoted the title of the descendants of Confucius from "Marquis" to "Gong" and allowed them not to pay taxes. In the Song Dynasty, the status of Confucius's descendants was further improved, and the eldest grandson of his descendants was named "Yanshenggong". From then on, this title lasted until the end of the Qing Dynasty, no matter how the dynasties changed, and feudal society withdrew from the stage of Chinese history, lasting for a total of thirty-two generations. In the awards of past dynasties, the Confucius mansion also enjoyed the highest level of treatment second only to the royal family. The residence of Confucius is the "Yanshenggong Mansion" located in what is now Qufu, Shandong Province, also known as "Kongfu". It is the place where Yanshenggong lived in the past dynasties. Nowadays, the Confucius Mansion still retains a strong atmosphere of Confucian culture and many thought-provoking stories. You can go sightseeing when you have time.

The Confucius family has been prosperous for more than 2500 years and has never declined. Even if the dynasty falls, it will not affect the fate of the family. The biggest reason why the Confucius family has been prosperous is that Confucian culture has become more and more prosperous and influential during the feudal period of more than two thousand years. As the descendants of Confucius, the founder of Confucianism and the "sage", they are naturally highly respected by the government and the people. Another reason is that every time the dynasty changes, the descendants of the Confucius family will not object, so who will embarrass the descendants of the saint? Until now, many people in society are still concerned about the living conditions of Confucius' descendants.
Welcome to the historical treasure.

Confucius was a famous thinker and educator in the Spring and Autumn Period of my country.

Respected as a saint.
To this day, we can still recite some of Confucius' famous sayings:

Confucianism founded by Confucius and his disciples was respected by later emperors and laid the ideological foundation of our country's traditional period.

These Confucian classics, such as the Four Books and Five Classics, have also become classics studied by future generations.
Of course.

The most distant living direct descendant of Confucius is Kong Youren, the 80th generation eldest grandson, who was born on New Year's Day in 2006.

Because of Confucius’ special status in Chinese history and culture, the descendants of Confucius receive special respect in our country. Regardless of the change of dynasties, the Confucius family will receive special protection.

The Kong family has always been a large family, mainly located in Qufu, Shandong, and also scattered in other parts of the country. It is even distributed abroad. Countries in the Chinese cultural circle such as South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Myanmar, and Western countries such as the United States, Britain, Switzerland, Canada, and Australia, all have descendants of Confucius who continue the bloodline.
"Xianxian celebrates prosperity, and Dewei bless you." These are the surnames of the Confucius family. Many people in the mainland have the surname Kong. Those with these characters in the middle are all descendants of Confucius, such as the famous Kong Xiangxi in history. Kong Linghui and others are all descendants of Confucius.
I can’t help but sigh that people who lived more than 2,000 years ago like Confucius can still see his direct descendants, and they are only eighty generations old. It’s true that “the deceased is like a man, and he never gives up day and night”!
Confucius’s descendants have one more hair, how could they not exist? Confucius is the most powerful family in China for more than 2,000 years. Many imperial families are no longer glorious, but they are still awesome

Of course, Confucius’s descendants exist, but Confucius’ genes have been integrated into the Chinese nation We have a big family. We know that parents each have half of the genes of their children, 1/4 of their grandchildren, and 1/6 of their great-grandchildren. Confucius doesn’t know how many generations it has been, probably hundreds of generations. Calculated in this way, the descendants of Confucius may only carry Confucius' genes in one ten thousandth or one hundred millionth!

What's the problem?

The direct line is still in Taiwan, but there are many collateral lines. Kong Linghui should be a descendant of Confucius, of the Ling generation. I have a classmate who is also a descendant of Confucius.

Others don’t need to verify the descendants of Confucius. You can find out by taking a walk in Confucius Forest.

There are geldings and eunuchs running all over the ground, real grandsons pretending to be grandsons, there are more than mice.

There are still many descendants of Confucius, but the bloodline of Confucius’s father has been cut off.

There are many descendants of Confucius, and his direct descendants serve as enshrinement officials for the most holy master in Taiwan.

How many descendants of Confucius are there so far?

It is estimated that there are more than 3 million descendants of Confucius alive today, and 2.5 million descendants of Confucius in mainland China. There are also a large number of Confucius descendants distributed in Hong Kong, Taiwan, as well as South Korea, the United States, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Confucius family refers to the general name of all the descendants of Confucius. The descendants of Confucius include Qufu Kong, Queli Kong, Zhen Kong, Nei Kong, Neiyuan Kong, etc. The current descendants are the 80th generation grandsons, Kong Youren and Kong Chuichang.

The Confucius Genealogy Renewal Association revealed today that more than 1 million new descendants will be included in the Confucius Genealogy, and about 200,000 female descendants will be included for the first time.

Kong Dehong, director of the Office of the Confucius Genealogy Renewal Work Association, said at the first annual meeting of the World Association of Confucius Descendants held in Qufu on the 26th that the "Confucius Genealogy" is undergoing its fifth revision. The last revision of the "Confucius Genealogy" ended in 1937, and it is basically facing the danger of discontinuity. After the revision, the total number of people included in the "Confucius Genealogy" will reach 1.5 million.

"The reason why women are included this time is because the Confucius Genealogy Renewal Work Association believes that men and women are equal in modern society, and although women have to get married, their surname is Confucius and they are also descendants of Confucius." Kong Dehong said.

"The Family Tree of Confucius" was recognized by the British Guinness World Records Co., Ltd. in 2005 as the longest family tree in the world. Confucius' clan has been passed down for 82 generations. Since the Ming Dynasty, the "Confucius Genealogy" has been revised once every 60 years and minor revisions every 30 years.

The initiative to renew the "Confucius Genealogy" began in 1987. Vice Prime Minister Gu Mu and President Kuang Yaming, who were the honorary president of the Confucius Foundation of China at the time, respectively proposed the revision to Kong Deyong, a descendant of Confucius. After discussions with other descendants of Confucius at home and abroad, the revision began in 1996.

Prior to this, the "Genealogy of Confucius" had been overhauled four times during the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. The last time it included 500,000 descendants of Confucius.

According to reports, this revision of the "Confucius Genealogy" changes the previous official revision practice. The revision is completely funded by the descendants of Confucius themselves, and the scope of descendant survey and registration covers all parts of the world. So far, the Confucius Genealogy Renewal Work Association has established more than 450 renewal organizations in various places, and the number of newly included descendants has exceeded 1 million, exceeding the scale of previous revisions.

Kong Dehong said that the renewal work has now fully entered the editing stage. The materials based on this renewal include the previously compiled "Confucius Genealogy", newly registered descendants and family trees preserved by people of various ethnic groups, as well as word-of-mouth and tombstone information.

According to reports, after 10 years of census and registration of descendants, the Confucius Genealogy Renewal Association has discovered descendants of Confucius from out-migrated tribes and naturalized ethnic minorities who have not been added to the genealogy for hundreds of years. Among them, last year the Taiwan branch discovered a family tree with the surname Kong in Pingtung, Taiwan.

The newly revised "Confucius Family Tree" not only adds information such as spouses and education levels, but will also be digitized. The descendants of Kong Shi only need to click the mouse and the tree diagram of the "family" can be displayed. At the same time, a map of China will be added to the new family tree to show the distribution of Confucius' descendants throughout China.

According to Kong Dehong, the new score is expected to be completed and printed in 2009, the 2560th anniversary of the birth of Confucius.

How are Confucius' descendants doing now?

Shouldn't you still be respected! Confucius is Confucius. What does his honor have to do with his descendants? The Jin people fought and surrendered, the Mongols fought and surrendered to the Mongols, and the Manchus fought and surrendered to the Manchus. How could the slaves of the four surnames have the dignity to honor the sage Kong? Are they afraid that the sage Kong is not embarrassed enough?

Who can prove that the Kong family is not dead? Look at the portrait of Confucius. His characteristics have remained unchanged for thousands of years. What points have been inherited by today’s descendants? In fact, I don’t know where it was broken a long time ago. Now the official needs to preserve such a saint family and needs their surname to be Kong.

No one can oppose Confucianism and Confucian culture, because if you oppose it, you are opposing your own culture and society. You are anti-social and will be changed by the public. Confucius has been promoted to the altar step by step by feudal rulers since the Han Dynasty, and has become a powerful tool for rulers to anesthetize people's minds and maintain feudal rule. This fully shows that his core ideas are incompatible with our promotion of social development and progress.

We do not deny that there are many valuable things in Confucius' writings that should be inherited and carried forward, but it is really not advisable to fully affirm Confucius' thoughts and even praise them as an excellent national cultural tradition that cannot be surpassed!

Our country has the concept of clan class. Even if the times are changing, you don’t feel it. In fact, it only exists in a different form. It lives in the hearts of every Chinese person. What is social relations? Take a good look at it. The Confucius Temple is like a kind of faith. This is faith. Don’t think it’s nothing. This is more powerful than the so-called imperial power. The ancients can say that princes and generals have a kind of Ning Ning?

The Kong family enjoyed the treatment of Yanshenggong in all dynasties because the Kong family knew current affairs. The family was not exterminated for resisting foreign rule. The rulers also used the influence of the Confucian family on Confucianism. The Confucian family has always been It was Duke Yan, and after the reform and opening up, Confucius became a saint again.

It is really not easy for the Kong family to last for more than 2,500 years and the past 80 years. Chinese society pays great attention to inheritance by the eldest son, mainly from one generation to the next. How difficult is this? At least there must be no problem with male reproduction so that it can be passed down from generation to generation. But if a male of a certain generation is incapable of reproduction, can he choose one from the nearest branch of his generation? I think it is generally possible, because the royal family can do it.

From the seventy-seventh to the seventy-eighth generation, the facial shape of the descendants of the Kong family is quite consistent with that of Confucius.  I also think that one of the direct descendants of the Kong family should be given certain treatment. The country has actually done this and has a seat in the National People's Congress. But it is better to have a title, maybe called Teacher Kong Sheng.

There is no need to exaggerate Confucius’ thoughts. The so-called benevolence, filial piety, loyalty and trustworthiness are all fake tricks. The most important thing in life is to be happy. Your father and mother are happy, the leaders and the people are happy, and your friends are happy with you. Just be happy.

After Confucius established Confucianism, Confucianism was respected by Confucianism. Descendants of Confucius have always been representatives of Confucianism. But it is precisely the descendants of Confucius who are the most shameful. One of the most important principles of Confucianism is loyalty, filial piety, integrity and shame. Loyalty is ranked No. 1. But none of the descendants of the Kong family were loyal. Courts changed throughout the dynasties.

Have you seen any of the descendants of the Kong family who were loyal to the court? Instead, the new dynasty needed Kong to contribute to them. Gave a lot of glory and wealth. If the court changes, it will be fine if you are not loyal. However, when foreign invaders (the Mongols in the Yuan Dynasty and the Manchus in the Qing Dynasty) did not see anyone being loyal, the so-called loyalty, filial piety and shame in Confucianism were just some superficial articles for everyone to see.

The Kong family has had no national integrity for more than 2,000 years. Alien tribes have invaded China. In all dynasties, no one from the Kong family has died for the sake of the country. There has never been anyone like Wen Tianxiang or Lu Xiufu or Shi Kefa. The descendants of the Kong family in Taiwan now are really ashamed of the sage Kong and the people of the world!

It is enough for the Kong family to have Confucius as their ancestor, just for the sake of a continuous inheritance of more than 2,000 years, no one cares about the moral character of future generations. If Confucius’ family status had been overturned a thousand years ago, there would be no Confucius Institute now. The culture inherited by the vast China has gone through many hardships, but it is rare to retain the Confucian lineage, making Confucius the most famous representative of Chinese culture in the world. Preserving the Confucius family is to spread Chinese civilization, and the inheritance of the Confucius family is the face of all Chinese people.

The above is all about the current situation of Confucius' descendants, do Confucius' descendants still exist now, and related content about Confucius' descendants. I hope it can help you.
